AIR CONDITIONING PRESSURE SENSOR ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT AIR CONDITIONER PRESSURE SENSOR (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

      Front view of wire harness connector

      (to Air Conditioner Pressure Sensor)

      Check the wire harness.


      1. Disconnect the A26 air conditioner pressure sensor connector.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A26-1(-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A26-1(-) - A26-3(+) Ignition switch ON 4.75 to 5.25 V

      (Air Conditioning Amplifier)

      Check the pressure sensor.


      1. Set the manifold gauge.

      2. Connect the D15 air conditioner pressure sensor connector.

      3. Warm up the engine.

      4. A/C switch on.

      5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Tech Tips

        Check from the rear of the connector while it is connected to the air conditioning amplifier.

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        D15-9(PRE) - D15-13(SG-2)

        Refrigerant pressure:

        Normal pressure (less than 3.0254 MPa [30.9 kg/cm2, 439 psi] and more than 0.1762 MPa [1.8 kg/cm2, 26psi])

        0.70 to 4.69 V

        Refrigerant pressure:

        Abnormal (less than 0.1762 MPa [1.8 kg/cm2, 26psi])

        Below 0.70 V

        Refrigerant pressure:

        Abnormal (more than 3.0254 MPa [30.9 kg/cm2, 439 psi])

        4.69 V or higher
  2. INSPECT AIR CONDITIONER PRESSURE SENSOR (for Manual Air Conditioning System)

      1. Disconnect the A26 air conditioner pressure sensor connector.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        A26-1(-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A26-1(-) - A26-3(+) Ignition switch ON 4.75 to 5.25 V

      1. Set the manifold gauge.

      2. Connect the D16 air conditioner pressure sensor connector.

      3. Warm up the engine.

      4. A/C switch on.

      5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Tech Tips

        Check from the rear of the connector while it is connected to the air conditioning amplifier.

        D16-12(PRE) - D16-23(SG-1)

        Refrigerant pressure:

        Normal pressure (less than 3.0254 MPa [30.9 kg/cm2, 439 psi] and more than 0.1762 MPa [1.8 kg/cm2, 26psi])

        0.70 to 4.69 V

        Refrigerant pressure:

        Abnormal (less than 0.1762 MPa [1.8 kg/cm2, 26psi])

        Below 0.70 V

        Refrigerant pressure:

        Abnormal (more than 3.0254 MPa [30.9 kg/cm2, 439 psi])

        4.69 V or higher
