REAR SPOILER (for Sedan) REMOVAL

Tech Tips

When removing the rear spoiler, heat the rear spoiler and vehicle body using a heat light.

Standard
Item Temperature
Rear Spoiler 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

Note

Do not heat the rear spoiler and vehicle body excessively.


  1. REMOVE BACK DOOR ASSIST GRIP

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      Remove the 2 screws and assist grip.

  2. REMOVE DOOR ASSIST GRIP

      Pull the assist grip in the direction shown by the arrow labeled (1) to disconnect the grip.

    2. Pull out the assist grip to remove it.

  3. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM COVER

      Using a clip remover, remove the 10 clips and cover.

  4. REMOVE REAR SPOILER

    1. Remove the 2 nuts.

    2. Put protective tape around the rear spoiler.

    3. Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and rear spoiler.

    4. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    5. Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the rear spoiler to the vehicle body.

    6. Detach the 5 clips and remove the rear spoiler.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
