When installing the rear bumper pad, heat the rear bumper cover surface using a heat light.

Do not heat the rear bumper cover excessively.

Attach the claw to install the rear upper bumper cover.
Install the screw.

INSTALL ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System)
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure for all ultrasonic sensor retainers.
For the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer and No. 3 ultrasonic sensor retainer:
Attach the claw to the rear bumper cover to install the ultrasonic sensor retainer.
For the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainers:
Attach the 2 claws to the rear bumper cover to install the ultrasonic sensor retainer.
INSTALL ULTRASONIC SENSOR CLIP (w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System)
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure for all ultrasonic sensor clips.
Attach the ultrasonic sensor clip to the ultrasonic sensor retainer from the backside of the bumper. Then attach the 2 claws of the clip to install the clip.
INSTALL NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System)
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure for all No. 1 ultrasonic sensors.
Attach the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor to the ultrasonic sensor clip from the backside of the bumper. Then attach the 2 claws of the sensor to install the sensor.
Connect the connector.
Attach the 2 clips.
INSTALL NO. 2 FRAME WIRE (w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System)
Attach the 4 clamps to install the No. 2 frame wire.
Connect the 4 connectors.
INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD LH
Clean the rear bumper cover surface.
Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.
Remove the double-sided tape from the rear bumper cover.
Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
Install a new rear bumper pad.
Remove the peeling paper from the face of a new rear bumper pad.
Tech Tips
After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.
Install the rear bumper pad as shown in the illustration.
