These DTCs are stored when the headlight swivel ECU detects errors in its own communications with the headlight (headlight swivel motor).

    1. Disconnect the A38 headlight swivel ECU connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A38-14 (IGS) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A38-22 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    1. Disconnect the A38 headlight swivel ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the A28 or A27 headlight connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LH
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A38-29 (SML) - A28-6 (SML) Always Below 1 Ω
      A38-29 (SML) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for RH
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A38-10 (SMR) - A27-6 (SMR) Always Below 1 Ω
      A38-10 (SMR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. CHECK HEADLIGHT SWIVEL MOTOR


    1. Temporarily replace the headlight with a new or normally functioning one Click here.
