LIGHTING SYSTEM Rear Fog Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU receives a rear fog light switch information signal from the light control switch (rear fog switch), and illuminates the rear fog lights.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Tech Tips

Inspect the fuses and bulbs for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (REAR FOG LIGHT)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Active Test / Rear Fog Light.

    5. Check that the rear fog lights turn on/off.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR FOG LIGHT BULB - BATTERY)

      for LHD:


      1. Disconnect the G18 or M9 rear fog light bulb connector.

      2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage
        for Sedan
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        G18-2 - Body ground Light control switch TAIL, rear fog light switch on 11 to 14 V
        Light control switch TAIL, rear fog light switch off Below 1 V
        for Wagon
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        M9-2 - Body ground Light control switch TAIL, rear fog light switch on 11 to 14 V
        Light control switch TAIL, rear fog light switch off Below 1 V
    2. for RHD:


      1. Disconnect the G19 or M10 rear fog light bulb connector.

      2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  3. INSPECT REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY (RR REAR FOG)


    1. A003C41E04

      Remove the RR FOG relay from the No. 1 relay block.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      3 - 5 Battery voltage not applied to terminals 1 and 2 10 Ω or higher
      Battery voltage applied to terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

      Remove the RR FOG relay from the No. 1 relay block.

    2. for LHD:


      1. Disconnect the G18 or M9 rear fog light connector.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        for Sedan

        RR FOG relay terminal 3 - G18-2 Always Below 1 Ω
        RR FOG relay terminal 3 - Body ground Always 10 Ω or higher
        for Wagon

        RR FOG relay terminal 3 - Body ground Always 10 Ω or higher
    3. for RHD:


      1. Disconnect the G19 or M10 rear fog light connector.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        RR FOG relay terminal 3 - G19-2 Always Below 1 Ω
        RR FOG relay terminal 3 - Body ground Always 10 Ω or higher
