DESCRIPTION

The windshield wiper relay controls the wiper motor.

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT WIPER MOTOR - BATTERY)

      Disconnect the A9 motor connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      for LHD
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A9-4 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      for RHD
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A9-5 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

  2. INSPECT FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

      Component without harness connected

      Remove the front wiper motor Click here.

    2. Apply battery voltage to the front wiper motor and check the speed of the front wiper motor.

      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 5

      Motor operates at low speed

      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2

      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 5

    2. Disconnect the D33 switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
