FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat) DISASSEMBLY

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB

      Apply protective tape around the front seat cushion shield LH.

    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the reclining power seat switch knob.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  2. REMOVE SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH WITH FRONT SEAT NO. 1 INNER CUSHION SHIELD LH

      Detach the 2 rubber bands.

      Remove the 2 screws and detach the 2 claws.

      Remove the 2 screws.

    4. Pull the front seat cushion shield LH to detach the hook and remove the front seat cushion shield LH with front seat No. 1 inner cushion shield.

      Disconnect the connector.

  4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT NO. 1 INNER CUSHION SHIELD LH

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the front seat No. 1 inner cushion shield from the front seat cushion shield LH.

  5. REMOVE LUMBAR FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH (for Driver Side)

      Remove the 2 screws and lumbar front power seat switch.

  6. REMOVE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 3 screws and front power seat switch.

  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD LH

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Pull the front seat inner cushion shield LH to detach the hook and remove it.

    3. Detach the wire harness clamp.

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH


    1. for Driver Side:

      Disconnect the connector and detach the clamps.

    2. for Passenger Side:

      Disconnect the connectors and detach the clamps.

      Remove the nut and front seat inner belt.

  9. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD

      Disconnect the connector.

      Cut off the cable tie.

      for Front Passenger Side:

      Detach the 2 hooks and disconnect the connector holder.

      for Driver Side:

      Detach the wire harness clamp.

    5. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    6. Detach the hooks and remove the seat cushion cover with pad.

  10. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER

      Detach the hooks and remove the separate type front seat cushion cover from the separate type front seat cushion pad.

      Note


      • As the front seat cushion heater assembly is affixed to the separate type front seat cushion pad, do not remove the front seat cushion heater assembly from the separate type front seat cushion pad.

      • When replacing either the front seat cushion heater assembly or separate type front seat cushion pad due to a malfunction, be sure to replace both of them with new parts.

  11. REMOVE POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Front Vertical)


    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. A00ONCU

      Remove the 3 screws and shield bracket.

    3. A00OJWA

      Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the bolt.

    4. Put a 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.

    5. A00ONA2E01

      Wind tape around the drill bit approximately 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip of the drill as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.

    6. A00OJFE

      Lightly press the drill against each of the 4 rivets shown in the illustration, and drill off the flange of each rivet.

      Note


      • Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.

      • Do not pry the rivet with the drill because this may cause damage to the installation holes of the rivet or the drill bit.

      • Be careful of the drilled rivet as it may become hot.

    7. A00OIE7

      Lightly press the drill against each of the 2 rivets shown in the illustration, and drill off the flange of each rivet.

      Note


      • Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.

      • Do not pry the rivet with the drill because this may cause damage to the installation holes of the rivet or the drill bit.

      • Be careful of the drilled rivet as it may become hot.

    8. Remove the power seat motor assembly with bracket.

      Lightly press the drill against each of the 2 rivets shown in the illustration, and drill off the flange of each rivet.

      Note


      • Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.

      • Do not pry the rivet with the drill because this may cause damage to the installation holes of the rivet or the drill bit.

      • Be careful of the drilled rivet as it may become hot.

    10. Remove the power seat motor assembly.

    11. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled area.

  12. REMOVE POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Rear Lifter)


    1. Put a 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.

      Wind tape around the drill bit approximately 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip of the drill as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.

      Lightly press the drill against each of the 2 rivets shown in the illustration, and drill off the flange of each rivet.

    5. Remove the power seat motor assembly.

    6. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled area.

  13. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH

    Tech Tips

    Perform this procedure when it is necessary to remove and reinstall or replace the separate type front seatback assembly LH.


    1. Detach the 2 hooks.

      Detach the 2 hooks from the bottom of the separate type front seatback cover.

      Detach the 2 hooks and disconnect the 2 straps.

      Pass the 2 straps through the 2 holes of the separate type front seatback pad to the surface.

      Detach the wire harness clamp.

      Disconnect the 2 connectors and detach the wire harness clamp.

  14. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER


    1. Detach the 2 hooks.

  15. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK PAD

      Note


      • As the front seatback heater assembly is affixed to the separate type front seatback pad, do not remove the front seatback heater assembly from the separate type front seatback pad.

      • When replacing either the front seatback heater assembly or separate type front seatback pad due to a malfunction, be sure to replace both of them with new parts.

  16. REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH

      Disconnect the connector.

      Detach the 8 hooks and remove the seatback spring.

  17. REMOVE FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH

      Disconnect the connector clamp and detach the 2 harness clamps underside of seat.

      Detach the 2 harness clamps and remove the 2 nuts and front seat air bag assembly LH.

      Note

      The nuts must not be reused.

  18. REMOVE POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Reclining)

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

      Disconnect the connector.

      Detach the 8 hooks and remove the seatback spring.

      Push in the inner reclining rod and remove the reclining rod assembly.

  19. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER LH

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Detach the claw and remove the seat climate control controller LH.

  20. REMOVE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side)

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and position control ECU assembly.

  21. REMOVE FRONT SEAT WIRE LH

      Detach the wire harness clamp.

      Disconnect the connector and detach the 3 wire harness clamps.

    4. Detach the 3 claws and remove the front seat wire LH.

  22. REMOVE FRONT SEAT LOWER CUSHION SHIELD LH

      Remove the screw and front seat lower cushion shield LH.

  23. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ANCHOR BRACKET COVER LH
