FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.
The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

REMOVE VERTICAL SEAT ADJUSTER KNOB CAP (for Manual Seat Driver Side)
1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the cap.
  
  Tech Tips
  
  Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
REMOVE VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE LH (for Manual Seat Driver Side)
1. Remove the 2 screws and handle.
REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE LH (for Manual Seat)
1. Raise the reclining adjuster release handle to reveal the claw. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the release handle.

  Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB (for Power Seat)

  *1 Protective Tape
  
  Apply protective tape around the cushion shield.
2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the knob.

  Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
REMOVE SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB (for Power Seat)

  Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the knob.

  Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH (for Manual Seat)
1. Remove the 2 screws.
2. Pull the shield to detach the hook and claw.
3. Remove the cushion shield.
4. w/ Lumbar Support:
  
  Disconnect the connector.
REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH WITH FRONT SEAT NO. 1 INNER CUSHION SHIELD LH (for Power Seat)
1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the shield.
REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD LH

  *1 Hook
  
  *2 Wire Harness Clamp
  
  Remove the 2 screws.
2. Pull the shield to detach the hook and remove the shield.
3. Detach the wire harness clamp.
REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER (for Manual Seat)
1. Detach the 4 hooks.
2. Detach the 2 hooks from the bottom of the seatback cover and roll up the seatback cover.
3. Detach the 2 hooks and remove the 2 straps.
4. Pass the 2 straps through the separate type front seatback pad holes to the surface.
5. Roll up the cover.
6. Remove the screw and detach the seatback cover bracket.

  *2 Hog Ring
  
  Remove the hog rings and detach the 3 hooks from the center of the seatback pad and roll up the seatback cover.
8. w/o Active Headrest:
  
  Remove the front seat headrest.
9. w/ Active headrest:
  1. Detach the 2 hooks and open the seatback mat.
  2. Cut off the cable tie.
  3. Pull the wire to loosen it, and then disconnect the end of the wire from the active headrest lower unit.
  4. Detach the 2 claws and remove the active headrest lower unit.
  5. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and wire.
    
    Tech Tips
    
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
  6. Remove the wire in the order shown in the illustration.
  7. Push the headrest support and detach the claw.
  8. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the front seat headrest.
    
    Tech Tips
    
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
10. Detach the 2 claws and remove the 2 headrest supports.
11. Detach the 2 hooks and remove the seatback cover.
REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER (for Power Seat)
1. Detach the 4 hooks.
2. Detach the 2 hooks from the bottom of the seatback cover and roll up the seatback cover.
3. Detach the 2 hooks and remove the 2 straps.
4. Pass the 2 straps through the separate type front seatback pad holes to the surface.
5. Roll up the cover.
6. Remove the screw and detach the seatback cover bracket.

  Remove the hog rings and detach the 3 hooks from the center of the seatback pad and roll up the seatback cover.
8. Detach the 2 hooks and open the seatback mat.
9. Cut off the cable tie.
10. Pull the wire to loosen it, and then disconnect the end of the wire from the active headrest lower unit.
11. Detach the 2 claws and remove the active headrest lower unit.
12. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and wire.

13. Remove the wire in the order shown in the illustration.
14. Push the headrest support and detach the claw.
15. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the front seat headrest.
  
  Tech Tips
  
  Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
16. Detach the 2 claws and remove the 2 headrest supports.
17. Detach the 2 hooks and remove the seatback cover.
REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK PAD
1. Remove the separate type front seatback pad.
  Note
  w/ Seat Heater System:
  - As the front seatback heater assembly is affixed to the separate type front seatback pad, do not remove the front seatback heater assembly from the separate type front seatback pad.
  - When replacing either the front seatback heater assembly or separate type front seatback pad due to a malfunction, be sure to replace both of them with new parts.
REMOVE FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH
1. Disconnect the connector clamp and detach the 2 harness clamps underside of seat.
2. Detach the 2 harness clamps and remove the 2 nuts and front seat airbag assembly LH.
  
  Note
  
  The nuts must not be reused.
