B1000/31 Center Airbag Sensor Assembly Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The center airbag sensor assembly consists of a deceleration sensor, safing sensor, electronic safing sensor, ignition control circuit and diagnosis circuit.

If the center airbag sensor assembly receives signals from the airbag sensor, it determines whether the SRS should be activated.

DTC B1000/31 is output when a malfunction is detected in the center airbag sensor assembly.

Tech Tips

When a trouble code is output simultaneously with B1000/31, repair the malfunction indicated by the other code first.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    2. Check for DTCs Click here.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1000/31 is output A
      DTC B1000/31 and other DTCs are output B

      Note

      If only DTC B1000/31 is output, do not clear the DTCs. Instead, immediately replace the center airbag sensor assembly.

      Tech Tips

      If any DTCs other than DTC B1000/31 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.
