BACK DOOR GLASS (for Wagon) REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE UPPER BACK DOOR TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY

      Detach the 4 clips and remove the back door trim panel.

  2. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH LH


    1. A003E8M

      Detach the 2 clips and claw, and remove the back door side garnish.

  3. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH RH


    1. A003BK6

      Detach the 2 clips and claw, and remove the back door side garnish.

  4. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM BOARD ASSEMBLY


    1. A003BFT

      Detach the 14 clips and remove the back door trim board.

  5. REMOVE REAR SPOILER

    1. Remove the 2 grommets and 4 nuts.

    2. Disconnect the connector and clamp.

      Put protective tape around the rear spoiler.

    4. Detach the 3 clips and remove the rear spoiler.

  6. REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM


    1. A003EDX

      Open the wiper arm head cap.

      Remove the nut and rear wiper arm.

  7. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. A003BO9

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts and rear wiper motor assembly.

  8. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET


    1. A003B9K

      Remove the wiper motor grommet.

  9. REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS ADHESIVE DAM

    1. Using a knife, cut off the dam as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    2. Pull the shaded area shown in the illustration by hand to remove the back door glass adhesive dam.

      Tech Tips

      Make a partial cut in the dam. Then pull and remove it by hand.

  10. REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS

      *1 Protective Tape

      Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.

      Note

      When separating the back door glass from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle paint or interior/exterior ornaments.

    2. Disconnect the connectors.

      *3 Spacer

      From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and back door glass as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Make sure not to damage the wire harness.

    4. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

      Place matchmarks on the glass and vehicle body at the locations indicated in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Matchmarks do not need to be placed if the glass is not going to be reused.

    6. Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the back door glass.

      Note

      Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the back door glass.

      Using suction cups, remove the back door glass.

  11. REMOVE BACK WINDOW GLASS ADHESIVE DAM


    1. Using a scraper, remove the dam.

  12. REMOVE BACK WINDOW GLASS CLIP LH


    1. Using a scraper, remove the clip.

  13. REMOVE BACK WINDOW GLASS CLIP RH


    1. Using a scraper, remove the clip.

  14. REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS SPACER


    1. Using a scraper, remove the 3 spacers.

  15. CLEAN VEHICLE BODY

    1. Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body.


      1. On the contact surface of the vehicle body, use a knife to cut away excess adhesive as shown in the illustration.

        Tech Tips

        Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible.

        Note

        Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

      2. Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with cleaner.

        Tech Tips

        Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the vehicle body.
