QUARTER WINDOW GLASS (for Wagon) REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. REMOVE REAR BENCH TYPE SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the 2 front hooks of the seat cushion from the vehicle body.

      Note

      Follow the instructions below carefully as the cushion frame deforms easily.


      1. Choose a hook to detach first. Place your hands near the hook as shown in the illustration. Then lift the seat cushion to detach the hook.

      2. Repeat for the other hook.

    2. Detach the 2 rear hooks of the seat cushion from the seatback.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  2. REMOVE REAR SIDE SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the rear seat 3 point type belt anchor.

    2. A003AHX

      Using a screwdriver, detach the claw to open the cap of the rear seat shoulder belt guide.

    3. Remove the seat belt from the belt guide.

      Remove the bolt, and then remove the side seatback LH as shown in the illustration.

  3. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Tonneau Cover)

    1. Pull the lever and remove the tonneau cover.

  4. REMOVE ROOM PARTITION NET ASSEMBLY (w/ Partition Net)

    1. Push the 2 buttons and remove the room partition net.

  5. REMOVE LOWER DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/ Partition Board)


    1. Remove the lower deck trim side board.

  6. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the clip and 2 guides, and remove the deck board.

  7. REMOVE DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Pull the lever and remove the deck board.

  8. REMOVE NO. 3 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Detach the clip and remove the No. 3 deck board.

  9. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX


    1. Detach the 7 guides and remove the rear deck floor box.

  10. REMOVE FLOOR SIDE RAIL LH (w/ Deck Rail)

    1. Remove the 3 bolts and floor side rail.

  11. REMOVE NO. 2 DECK SIDE TRIM COVER (w/o Deck Rail)

    1. Detach the 2 clips and 3 guides, and remove the deck side trim cover.

  12. REMOVE NO. 6 DECK SIDE TRIM COVER (w/o Deck Rail)

    1. Detach the 3 claws and remove the No. 6 deck side trim cover.

  13. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY (w/o Deck Rail)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for all the rope hooks.


    1. Remove the bolt and rope hook.

  14. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX LH

    1. Remove the bolt.

    2. Detach the 5 guides and remove the deck floor box.

  15. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE

    1. Detach the 4 clips and remove the rear floor finish plate.

  16. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    1. Detach the 8 claws and 2 clips, and remove the front door scuff plate.

  17. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

    Tech Tips

    Partially remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH so that the deck trim side panel can be removed Click here.

  18. REMOVE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP

    Tech Tips

    Partially remove the back door weatherstrip so that the deck trim side panel can be removed Click here.

  19. REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH CAP LH

    1. Detach the 6 clips (do not detach clip A).

    2. Pull the inner roof side garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration and remove it.

      Tech Tips

      Clip A remains attached to the body.

    3. Remove clip A from the vehicle body.

  20. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Remove the bolt and clip.

    2. Detach the 7 clips and 3 claws.

    3. Pass the fuel lid opener cable through the panel, disconnect the connector, and then remove the deck trim side panel.

  21. REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH

    1. Detach the 6 clips (do not detach clip A).

    2. Pull the inner roof side garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration and remove it.

      Tech Tips

      Clip A remains attached to the body.

    3. Remove clip A from the vehicle body.

  22. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY LH

    *1 Protective Tape

    Tech Tips

    Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.

    Note

    When separating the quarter window glass from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle paint or interior/exterior ornaments.


    1. Disconnect the connectors.

    2. Using a knife, cut off the moulding as shown in the illustration.

      *1 Piano Wire

      From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and quarter window glass as shown in the illustration.

    4. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    5. Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the quarter window glass.

      Note

      Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the quarter window glass.

    6. Using suction cups, remove the quarter window glass.

  23. CLEAN VEHICLE BODY

      Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body.


      1. On the contact surface of the vehicle body, use a knife to cut away excess adhesive as shown in the illustration.

        Note

        Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

        Tech Tips

        Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible.

      2. Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with cleaner.
