NAVIGATION SYSTEM Sound Signal Circuit between Radio Receiver and Extension Module

DESCRIPTION

The extension module sends the sound signal to the radio and display receiver assembly through this circuit.

If there is an open or short in the circuit, sound cannot be heard from the speakers even if there is no malfunction in the stereo component amplifier assembly*, radio and display receiver assembly, extension module or speakers.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - EXTENSION MODULE)


    1. Disconnect the z18 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the z17 extension module connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z18-2 (CDR+) - z17-13 (CDR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      z18-3 (CDR-) - z17-12 (CDR-) Always Below 1 Ω
      z18-4 (CDL+) - z17-15 (CDL+) Always Below 1 Ω
      z18-5 (CDL-) - z17-14 (CDL-) Always Below 1 Ω
      z18-2 (CDR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      z18-3 (CDR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      z18-4 (CDL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      z18-5 (CDL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
