C1207/65

Either condition is met:


  • A defective or sticking park/neutral position switch signal.

  • A defective or sticking back-up light switch signal.


  • Back-up light switch

  • Park/neutral position switch

  • Harness or connector

  • Electric parking brake ECU (Parking brake with bracket actuator assembly)

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note


  • Before performing work, turn the ignition switch off and wait approximately 20 seconds to make sure that the parking brake cannot operate.

  • When replacing the parking brake with bracket actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH - BATTERY/ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ECU)


    1. Disconnect the back-up light switch connector.

      Disconnect the electric parking brake ECU connector.

    3. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      B5-2 (RB) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B5-1 (RL) - I1-15 (RSW) Always Below 1 Ω

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH - ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ECU/BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the electric parking brake ECU connector.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B17-2 (TMN) - I1-17 (NSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      B17-2 (TMN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B17-1 (TME) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  3. INSPECT BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH


    1. Remove the back-up light switch (for EA62: Click here, for EA63: Click here for EA65: Click here.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      1 (RL) - 2 (RB) Pushed in Below 1 Ω
      Released 10 kΩ or higher

  4. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH


    1. Remove the park/neutral position switch (for EA62: Click here, for EA63: Click here for EA65: Click here.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      1 (TME) - 2 (TMN) Pushed in Below 1 Ω
