BRAKE ACTUATOR REMOVAL


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note


    • w/ Navigation System for HDD:

      After the ignition switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately a minute to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, wait a minute or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  2. REMOVE FUEL FILTER ELEMENT ASSEMBLY


    1. for 1AD-FTV:

      Remove the fuel filter element assembly Click here.

    2. for 2AD-FHV:

      Remove the fuel filter element assembly Click here.

    3. for 2AD-FTV:

      Remove the fuel filter element assembly Click here.

  3. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

    Note

    Wash off brake fluid immediately if it comes in contact with any painted surface.

  4. DISCONNECT CONNECTOR


    1. A003BXF

      Pull the lock lever upward and disconnect the connector.

      Note

      Be careful not to allow brake fluid to enter the removed connector.

  5. DISCONNECT BRAKE LINE


    1. A003AXV

      Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 6 brake lines from the brake actuator.

    2. A003AXDE01

      Place tags or marks to identify the installation locations of each brake line.

      Tech Tips


      • *1: to front wheel cylinder RH

      • *2: to front wheel cylinder LH

      • *3: to rear wheel cylinder RH

      • *4: to rear wheel cylinder LH

      • *5: from master cylinder

  6. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET


    1. A003EEE

      Disconnect the brake tube clamp from the brake actuator bracket.

      Note

      The clamp cannot be reused after it is disconnected from the bracket.

    2. A003DZ9

      Remove the 3 nuts and brake actuator with bracket.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the brake tubes.
