REAR SHOCK ABSORBER INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 SPRING BUMPER LH


    1. Install the rear bumper spring to the rear No. 2 suspension arm.

  2. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Support the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly LH with a jack using a wooden block to avoid damage.

    2. A00OLJJ

      Temporarily install the rear shock absorber assembly to the rear No. 2 suspension arm with the bolt and nut.

  3. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION SUPPORT ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Install the rear suspension support.

      Note

      Make sure that the rear suspension support is correctly installed as shown in the illustration.

  4. INSTALL REAR SHOCK ABSORBER CUSHION RETAINER LH

    1. Install the rear shock absorber cushion retainer.

      Note

      Be sure to install the rear shock absorber cushion retainer in the correct direction.

    2. A00OMUEE02

      Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, secure the rear shock absorber assembly and install the lock nut.

      Torque:
      25 N*m  { 255 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf }

  5. STABILIZE SUSPENSION


    1. Install the rear wheel.

      Torque:
      103 N*m  { 1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf }

    2. Lower the vehicle and bounce it up and down several times to stabilize the rear suspension.

    3. Remove the rear wheel.

  6. TIGHTEN REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Tighten the bolt on the rear shock absorber (lower side).

      Torque:
      90 N*m  { 918 kgf*cm, 66 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Since a stopper nut is used, tighten the bolt.

  7. INSTALL REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Temporarily install a new rear stabilizer link and 2 new rear stabilizer cushions to the rear No. 2 suspension arm with the 2 nuts.

    2. A00OLVN

      Install the upper nut.

      Torque:
      95 N*m  { 969 kgf*cm, 70 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a 6 mm hexagon wrench to hold the stud.

    3. A00OKBQ

      Tighten the lower nut.

      Torque:
      30 N*m  { 306 kgf*cm, 22 ft.*lbf }

  8. INSTALL REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A003AZ5

      Install the rear height control sensor with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      14 N*m  { 143 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

    2. Connect the connector.

  9. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH (for Sedan)


    1. Install the luggage compartment trim cover assembly LH Click here.

  10. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH (for Wagon)


    1. Install the deck trim side panel assembly LH Click here.

  11. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

    Torque:
    103 N*m  { 1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf }

  12. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT


    1. Inspect and adjust the rear wheel alignment Click here.

  13. ADJUST HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. for Halogen Headlight:

      Adjust the headlight assembly Click here.

    2. for HID Headlight:

      Adjust the headlight assembly Click here.
