AIR CONDITIONING UNIT (for Automatic Air Conditioning System) DISASSEMBLY

  • Use the same procedure for LHD and RHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


  1. REMOVE BLOWER ASSEMBLY

    1. w/ PTC Heater:

      Remove the screw.

    2. A003BU7

      w/ PTC Heater:

      Detach the 3 clamps.

    3. A003BY7

      Disconnect the connector.

    4. Remove the 3 screws and blower assembly.

  2. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the screw and amplifier assembly.

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR MIX DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 3 screws and damper servo.

  4. REMOVE AIR MIX DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 3 screws and damper servo.

  5. REMOVE MODE DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 3 screws and damper servo.

  6. REMOVE PTC HEATER ASSEMBLY (w/ PTC Heater)

    1. Detach the clamp.

    2. Remove the 2 screws.

    3. A003CYM

      Remove the PTC heater as shown in the illustration.

  7. REMOVE ASPIRATOR

    A003BKO

    1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the aspirator.

  8. REMOVE DRAIN COOLER HOSE

    1. Remove the drain cooler hose.

  9. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the screw and radiator bracket.

    2. Remove the radiator.

  10. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Detach the clamps and remove the harness.

  11. REMOVE COOLER EXPANSION VALVE

    A003EOA

    1. Using a 4 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 hexagon bolts and expansion valve.

    2. Remove the 2 O-rings from the No. 1 cooler evaporator sub-assembly.

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER EVAPORATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 4 screws.

    2. Detach the 4 claws and remove the unit case.

      Detach the clamp.

    4. Remove the evaporator.

  13. REMOVE FRONT EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR

    1. Remove the sensor.
