ECD SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:P2141, P2142

DTC Code DTC Name
P2141 Diesel Throttle Motor Circuit Low
P2142 Diesel Throttle Motor Circuit High

DESCRIPTION

The throttle actuator is operated by the ECM and opens and closes the throttle valve using gears. The opening angle of the throttle valve is detected by the Throttle Position (TP) sensor, which is mounted on the throttle body.

P2141
DTC Detection Drive Pattern DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
Idle the engine for 5 seconds or more

The throttle actuator current is below 0.5 A for 2.0 seconds during EGR valve operation.

(1 trip detection logic)

  • Open or short in throttle actuator circuit

  • Diesel throttle valve assembly

  • ECM

P2142
DTC Detection Drive Pattern DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
Idle the engine for 5 seconds or more

An throttle actuator current of 8 A or higher due to a mechanical malfunction, or a Hall IC temperature of 150 to 160°C (302 to 320°F) or higher is detected.

(1 trip detection logic)

  • Open or short in throttle actuator circuit

  • Diesel throttle valve assembly

  • ECM
