INSPECT FRONT OIL PUMP BODY AND GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY
Turn the drive gear with 2 screwdrivers and make sure that it rotates smoothly.
Note
Be careful not to damage the lip of the oil seal.
REMOVE STATOR SHAFT ASSEMBLY
Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, remove the 16 bolts and stator shaft from the oil pump body.
INSPECT CLEARANCE OF FRONT OIL PUMP BODY AND GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY
Push the driven gear to one side of the oil pump body.
Using a feeler gauge, measure the clearance.

If the clearance is more than the maximum, replace the front oil pump body and gear sub-assembly.
Using a straightedge and feeler gauge, measure the side clearance of both gears.

| Maximum side clearance |
| 0.04 mm (0.00157 in.) |
If the clearance is more than the maximum, replace the front oil pump body and gear sub-assembly.

REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP BODY O-RING
Remove the O-ring from the oil pump body.
REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP DRIVE GEAR
Remove the front oil pump drive gear from the oil pump body.
REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP DRIVEN GEAR
Remove the front oil pump driven gear from the oil pump body.
REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP OIL SEAL
Mount the oil pump between aluminum plates in a vise.
Using SST, tap out the oil seal from the oil pump body.
