P1616 Communication Error from ECM to Distance Control ECU

DESCRIPTION

The ECM is the only component that has a function to store and output DTCs in the dynamic radar cruise control system. Therefore, if the driving support ECU detects a communication error from the ECM, it sends a malfunction signal back to the ECM.

P1616 While the vehicle speed is 50 km/h (31 mph) or more with the cruise control switch on, the ECM continuously receives a logical error signal from the driving support ECU for 1 second.

  2. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Perform the following to make sure the DTC detection conditions are met.

      Tech Tips

      If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.


      1. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 50 km/h (31 mph) or more.

      2. Turn the cruise control switch on.
