  1. INSTALL GENERATOR ROTOR ASSEMBLY

    1. Place the drive end frame on the pulley.

      Install the generator rotor to the generator drive end frame.

    3. Install a new washer to the generator rotor.

      Using SST and a press, press on the generator rectifier end frame to the drive end frame.

      Install the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.9 N*m  { 60 kgf*cm, 52 in.*lbf }

    6. Install the cord clip with the bolt.

      4.6 N*m  { 47 kgf*cm, 41 in.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL GENERATOR BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY

    1. A00DU9AE19

      While pushing the 2 brushes into the generator brush holder, insert a φ1.0 mm (0.0394 in.) pin into the generator brush holder.

    2. Install the generator brush holder with the 2 screws.

      Torque:
      1.8 N*m  { 18 kgf*cm, 16 in.*lbf }

    3. Pull the pin out of the generator brush holder.

    4. Install the terminal insulator onto the generator rectifier end frame.

    5. Install the generator rear end cover with the 3 nuts.

      4.6 N*m  { 47 kgf*cm, 41 in.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL GENERATOR PULLEY

      Clamp the generator housing stay in a vise between aluminum plates.

    2. Install the pulley onto the rotor shaft by tightening the pulley nut by hand.

    3. Install SST (A) and (B) to the rotor shaft.

    4. Hold SST 1-A with a torque wrench and tighten SST 1-B clockwise to the specified torque.

      Torque:
      39 N*m  { 400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Check that SST is securely attached to the rotor shaft.

      Insert SST 2 and attach it to the pulley nut.

      Tighten the pulley nut by turning SST 1-A in the direction shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      133 N*m  { 1356 kgf*cm, 98 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Hold the adjustable wrench against the vise and tighten the nut securely.

    7. Remove SST 2 from the generator.

      Turn SST 1-B, and remove SST 1-A and B.

    9. Turn the pulley and check that the pulley moves smoothly.
