REAR BUMPER REASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

    A01VR6J

    1. Install the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly with the 8 bolts.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER


    1. A01VSWM

      Engage the 2 guides to install the rear bumper energy absorber.

  3. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH


    1. A01VRR2

      Engage the guide and claw.

    2. A01VSMF

      Install the 2 screws.

    3. A01VRQY

      Install the rear bumper side support LH with a new grommet.

  4. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  5. INSTALL NO. 2 REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH


    1. A01VT2R

      Engage the 5 claws.

    2. A01VT18

      Engage the 3 clips to install the No. 2 rear bumper side support LH as shown in the illustration.

  6. INSTALL NO. 2 REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  7. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER COVER LH


    1. A01VSC6

      Engage the 7 claws.

    2. A01VRSO

      Install the rear bumper upper cover LH with the clip.

  8. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER COVER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. INSTALL REAR BUMPER CENTER EXTENSION SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 8 guides.

    2. Install the 8 outside moulding retainers.

    3. Install the rear bumper center extension sub-assembly with the 4 clips.

  10. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01VR51

      Engage the guide.

    2. Install the reflex reflector assembly LH with the screw.

  11. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  12. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PIECE


    1. A01VS0IC01
      *a Hook

      Engage the hook.

    2. Engage the 2 claws to install the rear bumper piece.

  13. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.


    1. Clean the rear bumper cover.


      1. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the rear bumper cover.

      2. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. Remove the release paper from a new rear bumper pad.

      Tech Tips

      After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      Install the rear bumper pad as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Install the rear bumper pad along the line marked on the rear bumper cover.

  14. INSTALL ULTRASONIC SENSOR CLIP (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)


    1. Clean the rear bumper cover.


      1. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the rear bumper cover.

      2. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. Remove the release paper from 6 new ultrasonic sensor clips.

      Tech Tips

      After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

    3. Install the 6 ultrasonic sensor clips as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Install the ultrasonic sensor clip along the line marked on the rear bumper cover.

  15. INSTALL NO. 3 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)


    1. Engage the 6 clamps to install the No. 3 luggage room wire.

  16. INSTALL NO. 3 ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)
