REAR BUMPER DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

    for Corner Sensor:

  2. REMOVE NO. 3 ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

  3. REMOVE NO. 3 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)


    1. Disengage the 6 clamps to remove the No. 3 luggage room wire.

  4. REMOVE ULTRASONIC SENSOR CLIP (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)


    1. Remove the 6 ultrasonic sensor clips.

  5. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PAD

      Remove the rear bumper pad.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  6. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PIECE

      *a Hook

      Disengage the 2 claws.

    2. Disengage the hook to remove the rear bumper piece.

  7. REMOVE REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01VR51

      Remove the screw.

    2. Disengage guide and remove the reflex reflector assembly LH.

  8. REMOVE REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. REMOVE REAR BUMPER CENTER EXTENSION SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 4 clips.

    2. Remove the 8 outside moulding retainers.

      A01VS57

    3. Disengage the 8 guides to remove the rear bumper center extension sub-assembly.

  10. REMOVE REAR BUMPER UPPER COVER LH


    1. A01VRSO

      Remove the clip.

    2. A01VSC6

      Disengage the 7 claws and remove the rear bumper upper cover LH.

  11. REMOVE REAR BUMPER UPPER COVER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  12. REMOVE NO. 2 REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH


    1. A01VTBL

      Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 clips as shown in the illustration.

    2. A01VT2R

      Disengage the 5 claws and remove the No. 2 rear bumper side support LH.

  13. REMOVE NO. 2 REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  14. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH

      Remove the grommet.

    2. A01VSMF

      Remove the 2 screws.

    3. A01VRR2

      Disengage the claw and guide to remove the rear bumper side support LH.

  15. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  16. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER

      Disengage the 2 guides to remove the rear bumper energy absorber.

  17. REMOVE REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 8 bolts and rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly.
