SLIDING ROOF SYSTEM Remote Control System does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) receives remote control signals from the driver door key cylinder or wireless transmitter. Then, the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) activates the power window motor and sends the remote control signals to the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) via LIN communication. The sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) receives those signals and activates the sliding roof motor.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

  • The sliding roof key-linked function and sliding roof wireless transmitter-linked function are operative when the power window customize settings "Door Key P/W Up", "Door Key P/W Down", "P/W Up W/Transmit" and "P/W Down W/Transmit" are set to "ON" using the GTS. (The default setting of each is "OFF".) (w/o Canister Pump Module)

  • The sliding roof key-linked function is operative when the power window customize settings "Door Key P/W Up" and "Door Key P/W Down" are set to "ON" using the GTS. (The default setting of each is "OFF".) (w/ Canister Pump Module)

  • If the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) is removed and reinstalled or replaced, the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) must be initialized.

  • The sliding roof system uses the CAN and LIN communication systems. First, confirm that there are no malfunctions in the CAN and LIN communication systems. Refer to How to Proceed with Troubleshooting.

  • If a sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) DTC is output, first perform troubleshooting for the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) DTC.

  • Before replacing the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), refer to Service Bulletin.
