DESCRIPTION
The pedestrian detection sensor RH circuit consists of the airbag ECU assembly and pedestrian protection sensor RH.
The pedestrian protection sensor RH detects impacts to the vehicle and sends signals to the airbag ECU assembly to determine if the pop up hood lifter should be deployed.
DTC B16A0/93 is stored when a malfunction is detected in the pedestrian protection sensor RH.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
Note
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
PROCEDURE
REPLACE PEDESTRIAN PROTECTION SENSOR RH
Turn the engine switch off.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Replace the pedestrian protection sensor RH with a new one.
Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

CHECK DTC
Clear the DTCs stored in memory.
Turn the engine switch off.
Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Check for DTCs.
