LIGHTING SYSTEM Ambient Illumination Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the ambient illumination lights.

Note


  • Inspect the lights for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.

  • Before replacing the main ECU (multiplex network body ECU), refer to Service Bulletin.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

      Interior Illumination Light1 Ambient illumination lights ON or OFF

      Preconditions for using the Active Test to check dimmer controlled illumination:


      • Engine switch on.

      • Shift lever is in any position other than P.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the 4F instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      4F-1 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AMBIENT ILLUMINATION LIGHT - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU))


    1. Disconnect the O1 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    2. Disconnect the R6 and S6 ambient illumination light connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R6-2 - O1-21 (LED1) Always Below 1 Ω
      R6-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S6-2 - O1-21 (LED1) Always Below 1 Ω
      S6-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
