VACUUM PUMP(for 8AR-FTS) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL VACUUM PUMP ASSEMBLY


    1. When using a new vacuum pump assembly:


      1. B00743CC04
        *1 No. 2 O-ring
        *2 No. 3 O-ring
        B0073AQ Engine Oil

        Apply engine oil to the No. 3 O-ring installed in a new vacuum pump assembly.

        Note

        Do not apply engine oil to the No. 2 O-ring.

    2. When reusing the vacuum pump assembly:


      1. B00743CC04
        *1 No. 2 O-ring
        *2 No. 3 O-ring
        B0073AQ Engine Oil

        Install a new No. 2 O-ring to the vacuum pump assembly.

      2. Apply engine oil to a new No. 3 O-ring and install it to the vacuum pump assembly.

        Note

        Do not apply engine oil to the No. 2 O-ring.

    3. Apply engine oil to the inner surface of the installation hole.

      *a Coupling Teeth
      *b Groove

      Install the vacuum pump assembly so that the oil pipe engages with the hole of the camshaft and the coupling teeth with the grooves on the camshaft tip.

      Note


      • Ensure that the vacuum pump assembly is installed securely.

      • Be careful not to pinch the O-ring.

    5. for LHD:


      1. B0075IK

        Install the vacuum pump assembly with the 4 bolts.

        Torque:
        21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

        Note

        After installation, check that there are no gaps between the contact surfaces and that the vacuum pump assembly is not installed at an angle.

    6. for RHD:


      1. B00759K

        Install the vacuum pump assembly with the 4 bolts.

        Torque:
        21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

        Note

        After installation, check that there are no gaps between the contact surfaces and that the vacuum pump assembly is not installed at an angle.

    7. Connect the No. 2 vacuum transmitting hose assembly to the vacuum pump assembly.

  2. CONNECT UNION TO CHECK VALVE HOSE


    1. Connect the union to check valve hose, and slide the clip to secure it.

  3. INSTALL NO. 3 VENTILATION HOSE (for LHD)


    1. Engage the clamp.

    2. Connect the No. 3 ventilation hose, and slide the clip to secure it.

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  5. INSTALL ENGINE WIRE (for RHD)


    1. Engage the 2 clamps to install the engine wire.

  6. INSTALL BATTERY (for RHD)

  7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (for RHD)

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
