REAR SPEED SENSOR INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

  • The rear speed sensor rotor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the rear speed sensor rotor is malfunctioning, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR


    1. Insert the connector and grommet of the rear speed sensor into the inside of the vehicle through the hole in the wheel house.

      Note

      Make sure the band clamp remains on the outside of the vehicle.

    2. Hold the tube of the grommet and pull it toward the outside of the vehicle, then secure the grommet to the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

      Note


      • When pulling out the grommet, do not grip the sensor wire.

      • Secure the grommet in place within the range shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the 2 sensor clamps with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      6.0 N*m  { 61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not twist the rear speed sensor wire harness when installing it.

    4. Return the rear wheel house liner to its original position.

    5. Install the 2 sensor clamps and rear speed sensor to the rear axle carrier sub-assembly and rear upper control arm assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }

      Note


      • Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the rear speed sensor tip.

      • Firmly insert the rear speed sensor body into the rear axle carrier sub-assembly before tightening the bolt.

      • After installing the rear speed sensor to the rear axle carrier sub-assembly, make sure that there is no clearance between the rear speed sensor stay and rear axle carrier sub-assembly. Also make sure that no foreign matter is stuck between the parts.

      • Do not twist the rear speed sensor wire harness when installing it.

    6. Connect the rear speed sensor connector.

      Do not twist the rear speed sensor wire harness when installing it.

    7. Return the luggage compartment trim cover to its original position.

  2. INSTALL REAR WHEEL HOUSE LINER


    1. Install the rear wheel house liner with the 2 nuts.

  3. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

  4. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER LH (for LH Side)


    1. B0072ZVN01

      Engage the claw.

    2. Install the luggage compartment trim cover LH with the 2 clips (A) and clip (B).

    3. Install a new clip (C).

    4. Install the 2 rope hook assemblies with the 2 bolts.

    5. Engage the 4 claws to close the 2 covers.

  5. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER RH (for RH Side)


    1. w/o Deck Side Trim Box:


      1. B0076WUN01

        Engage the claw.

      2. Install the luggage compartment trim cover RH with the 3 clips (A).

      3. Install a new clip (B).

    2. w/ Deck Side Trim Box:


      1. B0073MPN01

        Engage the claw.

      2. Install the luggage compartment trim cover RH with the 3 clips (A).

      3. Install a new clip (B).

      4. Engage the 5 guides and clip to install the deck side trim box RH.

    3. Install the 2 rope hook assemblies with the 2 bolts.

    4. Engage the 4 claws to close the 2 covers.

  6. INSTALL FRONT UPPER LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER

  7. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT ASSEMBLY

  12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
