AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REAR OIL SEAL(for 8AR-FTS) REPLACEMENT

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLANGE YOKE ASSEMBLY

      Using SST and a hammer, release the staked part of the lock nut.

      SST

      Note


      • Use SST with the tapered part facing the shaft.

      • Do not modify the tip of SST with a grinder or other device.

      • Completely release the staked part of the lock nut before removing it.

      • Do not damage the threads of the shaft.

      *b 30 mm Deep Socket Wrench
      B0077CY Turn

      Using SST and a 30 mm deep socket wrench, remove the lock nut.

    3. Remove SST.

    4. Tap the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly with a plastic hammer to remove it.

      *1 Oil Seal

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, remove the oil seal from the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly.

      Note

      Do not damage the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly.

  3. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REAR OIL SEAL

      Using SST, remove the automatic transmission rear oil seal.

  4. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REAR OIL SEAL

      *a Depth

      Using SST and a hammer, install a new automatic transmission rear oil seal.

      SST
      09316-12010
      09316-60011   ( 09316-00011, 09316-00041 )
      Standard Depth
      3.3 to 3.7 mm (0.130 to 0.145 in.)

    2. Coat the lip of the automatic transmission rear oil seal with MP grease.

  5. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLANGE YOKE ASSEMBLY

      *a Depth

      Using SST and a hammer, install a new oil seal to the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly.

      09950-60010   ( 09951-00370 )
      09950-70010   ( 09951-07150 )
      Standard Depth
      0 to 0.3 mm (0 to 0.0118 in.)

    2. Coat the lip of the oil seal with MP grease.

    3. Install the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly.

    4. B0075J5C01
      *a Hold
      B0077CY Turn

      Using SST and a 30 mm deep socket wrench, install a new lock nut.

      09950-30012   ( 09955-03040 )
      Torque:
      135 N*m  { 1377 kgf*cm, 100 ft.*lbf }

    5. Using a chisel and hammer, securely stake the lock nut.

  6. INSTALL PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY
