AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SYSTEM(for 8AR-FTS), Diagnostic DTC:P08CC15

DTC Code DTC Name
P08CC15 Shift Solenoid "J" Control Circuit Short to Battery or Open

DESCRIPTION

Based on the ON-OFF combinations of the solenoid (SL1, SL2, SL3, SL4, SL5, SC1 and SC2) valves, the ECM performs gear shifts from 1st gear to 8th gear.

If a circuit related to a solenoid valve is open or shorted, the ECM uses the fail-safe function to turn other solenoid valves on or off. If all solenoid valves are malfunctioning, only the mechanical fluid pressure circuit will function and some manual operation will be possible. If an open or short has occurred, the ECM cuts power to the malfunctioning solenoid valve.

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

This DTC indicate an open or short in the solenoid (SC2) valve circuit. When there is an open or short circuit in any shift solenoid valve circuit, the ECM detects the problem, illuminates the MIL and stores a DTC.

When the solenoid (SC2) valve is off, if its resistance is 100 kΩ or more, the ECM determines there is an open or short in the solenoid (SC2) valve circuit.
