OIL PUMP REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

Do not remove the oil pump and oil pump relief valve from the timing chain cover assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH

    Click here

  3. REMOVE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY (for High Pressure)

  4. REMOVE VENTILATION HOSE

    Click here

  5. REMOVE NO. 4 VENTILATION HOSE

    Click here

  6. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  7. REMOVE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR (for Intake Side)

    Click here

  8. REMOVE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR (for Exhaust Side)

    Click here

  9. DISCONNECT SUCTION HOSE

      Remove the nut and disconnect the suction hose from the suction pipe sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the suction hose.

      Note

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  10. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER

  11. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

      Disconnect the 4 connectors.

      Pull up the lock lever while pushing the lock on the lever to disconnect the ECM connector.

      Note

      After disconnecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting parts of the connectors.

      Remove the nut and disconnect the engine wire.

    4. Disengage the claw and disconnect the engine wire from the engine room relay block.

      for Engine LH Side:


      1. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the connector.

        Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the connector.

      for Engine Front Side:


      1. Remove the bolt and 3 nuts.

      2. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the 5 connectors.

    7. for Engine Upper Side:


      1. B0077BS

        Disconnect the air fuel radio sensor connector.

      2. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the No. 3 ventilation hose from the engine wire.

      3. Remove the bolt and disconnect the engine wire from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 TURBO WATER PIPE

  13. DISCONNECT NO. 3 VENTILATION HOSE

    Click here

  14. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  15. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER GASKET

    Click here

  16. REMOVE NO. 6 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

      Slide the 2 clips and remove the No. 6 water by-pass hose.

  17. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE

  18. REMOVE AIR CLEANER BRACKET

    Click here

  19. REMOVE WATER OUTLET SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  20. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY

  21. REMOVE IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  22. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  23. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  24. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR

  25. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 nuts and 19 bolts.

    2. Using a screwdriver wrapped in protective tape, remove the timing chain cover assembly by prying the points shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not damage the contacting surfaces of the timing chain cover assembly, camshaft housing sub-assembly, cylinder head sub-assembly, stiffening crankcase assembly and cylinder block sub-assembly.

      *1 No. 2 Oil Strainer Gasket
      *2 Oil Pump Gasket
      *3 Gasket

      Remove the No. 2 oil strainer gasket and oil pump gasket from the stiffening crankcase assembly.

    4. Remove the gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  26. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL

      *a Protective Tape
      *b Wooden Block

      Using a screwdriver and wooden block, pray out the timing chain cover oil seal.

      Note

      Do not damage the surface of the timing chain cover oil seal press fit hole.
