FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL TIMING GEAR CASE OR TIMING CHAIN CASE OIL SEAL


    1. Apply MP grease to the lip of a new timing gear case or timing chain case oil seal.

      Note

      Keep the lip free from foreign matter.

      *a Standard Depth

      Using SST and a hammer, tap in the timing gear case or timing chain case oil seal until its surface is flush with the timing chain cover sub-assembly edge.

      0 to 1.0 mm (0 to 0.0394 in.)

      Note


      • Keep the lip free from foreign matter.

      • Do not tap in the timing gear case or timing chain case oil seal at an angle.

      • Do not deform the timing gear case or timing chain case oil seal.

      • Make sure that the timing gear case or timing chain case oil seal is not protruding from the timing chain cover sub-assembly after installation.

      • Wipe off excess MP grease from the crankshaft.

      • Make sure that the lip of the timing gear case or timing chain case oil seal is not turned over.

  2. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT TIMING GEAR KEY


    1. Install the crankshaft timing gear key to the crankshaft groove.

  3. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY


    1. Align the crankshaft timing gear key with the key groove of the crankshaft pulley, and slide on the crankshaft pulley.

      *b Turn

      Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley and install the crankshaft pulley bolt.

      Torque:
      260 N*m  { 2651 kgf*cm, 192 ft.*lbf }
  4. CONNECT WIRE HARNESS


    1. Install the wire harness with the bolt.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }
    2. Connect the engine oil pressure switch assembly connector.

  5. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT

  6. INSTALL FAN SHROUD ASSEMBLY

  7. INSPECT FOR ENGINE OIL LEAK
