ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

    Tech Tips

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the engine coolant temperature sensor. (w/ Canister Pump Module)

    1. Install a new gasket to the engine coolant temperature sensor.

    2. B0072ZJC01
      *a 19 mm Ball Joint Lock Nut Wrench
      *b Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length

      Using a 19 mm ball joint lock nut wrench, install the engine coolant temperature sensor to the rear water by-pass joint.

      Torque:
      Specified tightening torque
      19.6 N*m  { 200 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      If the engine coolant temperature sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      Tech Tips


      • Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

      • When using a 19 mm ball joint lock nut wrench (fulcrum length of 150 mm (5.91 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 155 mm (6.1 in.)):

        10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

    3. Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

  2. CONNECT WATER BY-PASS HOSE


    1. Connect the water by-pass hose to the rear water by-pass joint and slide the clip to secure it.

  3. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR

  4. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (w/ Canister Pump Module)


    1. Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the engine coolant temperature sensor.
