NAVIGATION SYSTEM PRECAUTION


  1. PRECAUTION FOR DISCONNECTING CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note


    • After the engine switch is turned off, the radio receiver assembly records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 85 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    • When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the following systems after the terminal is reconnected.

  2. Note


    • When replacing the radio receiver assembly or navigation ECU, always replace it with a new one. If a radio receiver assembly or navigation ECU which was installed to another vehicle is used, the following may occur:


      • A communication malfunction DTC may be stored.

      • The radio receiver assembly or navigation ECU may not operate normally.

    • When replacing the telematics transceiver, be sure to replace it with a new one (w/ Telematics Transceiver).

    • After replacing the radio receiver assembly, if the "New software is not compatible with the system. Contact your dealer." on-screen message is displayed on the multi-display assembly, update the software of the navigation ECU.

    • After replacing the navigation ECU, if the "New software is not compatible with the system. Contact your dealer." on-screen message is displayed on the multi-display assembly, update the software of the radio receiver assembly.

    PRECAUTION FOR NAVIGATION SYSTEM


    1. If any of the following parts are replaced, refer to Initialization in Repair Instruction (w/ Telematics Transceiver for G-BOOK).

  3. PRECAUTIONS FOR G-BOOK (w/ Telematics Transceiver for G-BOOK)


    1. The navigation ECU functions as the G-BOOK device and stores the G-BOOK ID.

      Note

      When replacing the navigation ECU or telematics transceiver, perform Vehicle Contract Setting.
