FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM Power Seat Power Easy Access System Function does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

When the engine switch is off and the shift lever is in P, the power seat slides rearwards when the seat belt tongue plate is disengaged from the front seat inner belt assembly (auto away function). Also the power seat slides forward when the seat belt tongue plate is engaged with the front seat inner belt assembly with the engine switch on (ACC) or on (IG), or the shift lever in P.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FRONT POWER SEAT OPERATION


    1. Check that each function of the power seat operates normally by using the front power seat switch Click here.

      OK
      Each function of power seat operates normally by using seat switches.

    OK
  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (BUCKLE SWITCH)


    1. Using the intelligent tester, check the Data List for proper functioning of the seat buckle switch.

      ON: Tongue plate engaged

  3. REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH


    1. Replace the front power seat switch Click here.

    1. Check that the power seat power easy access system operates normally when engaging and disengaging the tongue plate of the seat belt with the shift lever in P Click here.

  5. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY

      Remove the front seat inner belt assembly Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      5 (RDC) - 4 (E) Seat belt fastened Below 1 Ω
      5 (RDC) - 4 (E) Seat belt unfastened 10 kΩ or higher

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT AND BODY GROUND)


    1. for LHD:

      1. Disconnect the c63 front power seat switch connector.

      2. Disconnect the c22*1 or c53*2 front seat inner belt connector.


        • *1: w/ Climate Control Seat System

        • *2: w/o Climate Control Seat System

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
