FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY REASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

  1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT WIRE LH


    1. Attach the claw to install the front seat wire LH.

    2. Attach the wire harness clamps and connect the connectors.

  2. INSTALL SEAT FRAME SET BRACKET (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

    1. Attach the 4 hooks to install the seat frame set bracket.

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR FILTER (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

    1. Rotate the No. 1 air filter clockwise to attach the claws and install it.

  4. INSTALL SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

    1. Install the seat climate control blower LH with the nut.

    2. Attach the wire harness clamp.

    3. A01ERF5

      Install the 2 bolts and connect the connector.

  5. INSTALL SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER LH (w/ Climate Control Seat System, for Seat Cushion)

    1. Install the seat climate control controller LH with the 2 screws.

    2. Attach the wire harness clamp.

      Attach the 4 claws to connect the seat climate control blower LH.

  6. INSTALL SEAT POSITION SENSOR (for Driver Side)


    1. Check that the engine switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the battery negative (-) terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Note

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

    3. A01ERPHE04

      Using a 1.0 mm (0.0393 in.) feeler gauge, install the seat position sensor.

      Note


      • If the seat position sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the seat position sensor with a new one.

      • When installing the seat position sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.

      Tech Tips

      Be sure that the clearance between the seat position sensor and the seat rail is within 0.6 to 1.4 mm (0.0236 to 0.0551 in.).

    4. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, install the seat position sensor with the screw.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

    5. Make sure that the clearance between the seat position sensor and the seat rail is within 0.6 to 1.4 mm (0.0236 to 0.0551 in.).

    6. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the seat position sensor.

    7. Connect the connector.

    8. Install the seat slide position sensor protector to the seat position sensor.

  7. INSTALL SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

    1. Attach the claw to install the seat climate control ECU.

    2. Connect the connector.

  8. INSTALL SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Climate Control Seat System)

    1. Attach the claw to install the seat heater control sub-assembly.

    2. Attach the wire harness clamp and connect the connector.

  9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH

    CAUTION:

    Make sure that the seat frame assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.

      Install the front seat airbag assembly with 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    2. Attach the 2 clamps to connect the wire harness.

      w/o Climate Control Seat System


      1. Attach the 5 clamps to connect the wire harness.

    4. A01ES2Y

      w/ Climate Control Seat System


      1. Attach the 4 clamps and disconnect the wire harness.

  10. INSTALL FRONT LOWER SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH

    1. Attach the hook to install the front lower seat cushion shield LH.

    2. Install the screw.

  11. INSTALL FRONT LOWER SEAT CUSHION SHIELD RH


    1. Attach the hook to install the front lower seat cushion shield RH.

    2. Install the screw.

  12. INSTALL UPPER ACTIVE HEADREST UNIT

      Install the upper active headrest unit with the 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      14 N*m  { 143 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

  13. INSTALL LOWER ACTIVE HEADREST UNIT

      Install the lower active headrest unit with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }

      Attach the clamp.

    3. Connect the active headrest cable to the upper active headrest unit with the nut.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }

  14. INSTALL LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01EQVA

      Attach the 3 claws to install the bush.

    2. A01EPSF

      Install the lumbar support adjuster LH with the 2 screws.

    3. Connect the connector.

      • Be careful not to damage the cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.

      CAUTION:

      After the front separate type seatback cover is assembled, make sure the side airbag strap is not twisted.

    3. Using hog ring pliers, install new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.

  24. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT

    1. Attach the 4 claws to install the 2 front seat headrest supports.

  25. INSTALL SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER LH (w/ Climate Control Seat System, for Seatback)

    1. Attach the 4 hooks to install the seat climate control controller LH.

    2. Attach the 2 claws to connect the seat climate control blower LH.

  26. INSTALL NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY

      Attach the 2 claws to install the light.

  27. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Move the front seatback board sub-assembly in the direction of the arrow to attach the 2 hooks and install it.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  28. INSTALL TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System)


    1. Install the television display assembly with the 3 nuts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    2. Connect the connector.

  29. INSTALL TELEVISION BASE (w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System)


    1. Attach the 3 guides and 3 claws to install the television base.

  30. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Set the front seat cushion heater assembly LH with the name stamp side facing the front separate type seat cushion cover.

    2. w/o Climate Control Seat System:

      Install the front seat cushion heater assembly LH to the front separate type seat cushion cover with new tack pins.

  35. INSTALL FRONT INNER SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH

  36. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Install the front seat inner belt assembly with the nut.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not allow the anchor part of the front seat inner belt assembly to overlap the protruding part of the front seat adjuster.

    2. Connect the 3 connectors and attach the clamps.

  37. INSTALL SEAT VARIABLE CUSHION SWITCH (for Driver Side)

    1. Install the seat variable cushion switch to the front seat cushion shield LH with the 2 screws.

  38. INSTALL LUMBAR SWITCH

    1. Install the lumbar switch to the front seat cushion shield LH with the 2 screws.

  39. INSTALL FRONT INNER NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH

      Attach the claw and guide to install the front inner No. 1 cushion shield LH to the front seat cushion shield LH.

    2. Install the 2 screws.
