ENTRY AND START SYSTEM (for Entry Function) Back Door Entry Lock and Unlock Functions do not Operate

DESCRIPTION

When the back door entry lock and unlock functions do not operate, one of the following may be malfunctioning: 1) power door lock control system, or 2) electrical key antenna (for outside luggage compartment), or 3) main body ECU (cowl side junction block LH), or 4) certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

Before performing the inspection, check that there are no problems related to the "CAN Communication System" and "LIN Communication System".

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION


    1. When the door control switch of the master switch assembly is operated, check that the locked doors unlock.

      OK
      Door locks operate normally.

  2. CHECK VEHICLE EQUIPMENT


    1. Check if the power back door is equipped on the vehicle.

    1. When the power back door switch is operated, check that the power back door open and close.

  4. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the intelligent tester.

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU [SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY] - OUTSIDE ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA)

      Disconnect the E29 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the K23 antenna connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E29-31 (CLG8) - K23-1 (CLG5) Always Below 1 Ω
      E29-32 (CG8B) - K23-2 (CLGB) Always Below 1 Ω
      E29-31 (CLG8) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
