REMOVE TRANSMITTER BATTERY (for Type A)
Note
Take extra care when handling these precision electronic components.
Push and hold the release knob in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration. Then take the mechanical key out of the case.
Insert a precision screwdriver into the gap, and turn the screwdriver to detach the transmitter housing cover.
Tech Tips
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Insert a precision screwdriver into the gap and remove the battery (lithium battery: CR1632).
Note
When replacing the transmitter battery, before starting work, remove static electricity that has built up in the body by touching, for example, the vehicle to prevent the electrical transmitter from being damaged.
Do not push the terminals with your finger.
Do not forcibly pry up the battery. The terminals may be damaged.
Do not touch the battery with wet hands. Water may cause rust.
Do not touch or move any components inside the transmitter. It may interfere with proper operation.

Remove the mechanical key from the case.
Detach the claw and remove the slide cover.
Remove the 4 screws and battery cover.
Note
When replacing the transmitter battery, before starting work, remove static electricity that has built up in the body by touching, for example, the vehicle to prevent the electrical transmitter from being damaged.
Remove the O-ring.
Insert a precision screwdriver into the gap and remove the battery (lithium battery: CR1632).

Slide the transmitter housing cover and remove the transmitter housing cover as shown in the illustration.
Remove the 4 screws and remove the transmitter battery housing cover and O-ring.

Lightly hold and pull the transmitter housing cover in the direction of the arrow as shown in the illustration.

When replacing the transmitter battery, before starting work, remove static electricity that has built up in the body by touching, for example, the vehicle to prevent the electrical transmitter from being damaged.
Do not insert a screwdriver, etc. between the case and battery cover and forcefully bend the battery cover. This will deform the battery cover.
Tech Tips
If the battery cover is held too firmly, it becomes harder to pull out.
If the cover is slippery and is difficult to pull out, use non-slip gloves to pull the cover out.
Remove the transmitter battery (lithium battery: CR2412).

INSTALL TRANSMITTER BATTERY (for Type A)
Install a new battery (lithium battery: CR1632) with the positive (+) side facing upward, as shown in the illustration.

Tech Tips
Do not bend the transmitter battery electrode during insertion.
Keep the transmitter cover interior free of dust and oil.
Install the transmitter housing cover by pressing down on it as shown in the illustration.
Insert the mechanical key into the transmitter.
Press one of the transmitter switches and check that the LED illuminates.
INSTALL TRANSMITTER BATTERY (for Type A, w/ Battery Cover)
Install a new battery (lithium battery: CR1632) with the positive (+) side facing upward, as shown in the illustration.

When inserting the transmitter battery, do not bend the terminal.
Keep the transmitter cover interior free of dust and oil.
Install a new O-ring.
Install the battery cover with the 4 screws.

Attach the claw to install the slide cover.
Insert the mechanical key into the transmitter.

Install a battery (lithium battery: CR1632) with the positive (+) side facing upward as shown in the illustration.

Do not bend the electrodes while installing the battery.
Keep the interior of the transmitter case free of dust, water and oil.
Install new O-ring and the transmitter battery housing cover with the 4 screws.

Insert the mechanical key into the transmitter.

INSTALL TRANSMITTER BATTERY (for Card Type)
Push in and install a new transmitter battery (lithium battery (CR2412)) while being careful of the following: 1) the positive (+) and negative (- ) terminals of the battery; and 2) being sure to insert the battery between the 2 terminals and deep into the card, in the direction of the arrow.

Insert the battery so that its positive (+) side is facing the LEXUS mark.
Do not deform the terminals.
If the terminals are dirty, wipe the terminals with a soft cloth before installing the battery.
Tech Tips
Check if the card terminals are damaged or if the card interior has foreign matter.
Install the transmitter housing cover so that it clips onto the case.

Push on the transmitter cover until its attachment hooks attach securely.
When the transmitter cover is removed and installed many times, be careful as the cover may become loose.
