STOP LIGHT CONTROL RELAY INSPECTION

INSPECT STOP LIGHT CONTROL RELAY ASSEMBLY

1.

   *a	Front view of wire harness connector (to Stop Light Control Relay Assembly)

   Disconnect the A39 stop light control relay connector.

2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Voltage
   Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A39-2 (STP) - Body ground Brake pedal released Below 1 V Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V A39-6 (+B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

   If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance
   Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A39-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

   If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

   Reconnect the A39 stop light control relay connector.

5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Voltage
   Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A39-8 (OUT) - Body ground Brake pedal released Below 1 V Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V

   If the result is not as specified, replace the stop light control relay.

INSPECT STOP LIGHT CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

   *1	Component with harness connected (Stop Light Control ECU Assembly)

   Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Voltage
   Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A58-6 (+B) - A58-8 (GND) Always 11 to 14 V A58-5 (STP) - A58-8 (GND) Brake pedal released Below 1 V Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V A58-1 (OUT) - Body ground Brake pedal released Below 1 V Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V

   If the result is not as specified, replace the stop light control ECU assembly.
