  1. CHECK PROBLEM SYMPTOM (WARNING NOTIFICATION FUNCTION)


    1. Check the problem symptom.


      1. Check the problem symptom of the warning notification function.

        • The warning notification function sends information to the G-BOOK center.

        • In order to determine if a temporary problem with radio waves caused the malfunction, carefully confirm the conditions that were present when the malfunction occurred.

  2. INSPECT WARNING LIGHT


    1. Check if the indicated warning light or message is listed in the following table.

  3. CHECK FOR SERVICE FLAG


    1. Check for service flags.


      1. Enter diagnostic mode Click here.

      2. Select "Service Information" on the Service Menu screen.

      3. Select "G-BOOK Information for Contract" on the Service Information screen.

      4. Using the illustration as reference, check if the flag information indicated by the arrow indicates "1".

  4. CHECK CONNECTION (TO G-BOOK CENTER)


    1. Check the connection to the G-BOOK center.


      1. Turn the engine switch on (ACC) and wait 1 minute.

      2. Perform the operations shown in the illustration and check that G-BOOK.com is displayed.

  5. INSPECT METER WARNING LIGHT


    1. Check if a warning light on the combination meter assembly comes on or a warning message on the multi-information display is displayed even when there is no problem.

      OK
      There are no problems with warning lights or warning messages.

      Tech Tips

      The warning notification function of the G-BOOK system uses the warning notification signals sent and received by the meter / gauge system. Therefore, if the meter / gauge system is not operating normally, the warning notification function will not operate normally.

  6. INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: System Select / CAN Bus Check.

    5. Check that all ECUs and sensors that use CAN communication are connected.

  7. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Utility / All Codes.

    5. Check for DTCs Click here.

  8. CHECK NAVIGATION SYSTEM


    1. Check if the navigation system is operating and functioning normally.

    1. Renew the data.
