STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH


    1. Remove the 7 clips and engine room side cover LH.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Remove the front seat assembly LH Click here.

  4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH


    1. Remove the front seat assembly RH Click here.

  5. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 SEAT CUSHION HINGE COVER

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 6 claws and remove the cover.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  6. REMOVE REAR NO. 5 SEAT CUSHION HINGE COVER

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 7 claws and remove the cover.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  7. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT CUSHION HINGE COVER

      Operate the reclining adjuster release handle to move the seat into the position shown in the illustration.

    2. A01ERA4

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and 2 clips, and remove the cover.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  8. REMOVE REAR NO. 4 SEAT CUSHION HINGE COVER


    1. A01ESGR

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and 2 clips, and remove the cover.

  9. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01ESG7

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. w/ Seat Heater System:

      Disconnect the connector.

      Remove the 4 bolts and seat assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  10. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT CUSHION HINGE COVER

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 6 claws and remove the cover.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  11. REMOVE REAR NO. 4 SEAT CUSHION HINGE COVER

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 7 claws and remove the cover.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  12. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION HINGE COVER

      Operate the reclining adjuster release handle to move the seat into the position shown in the illustration.

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and 2 clips, and remove the cover.

  13. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 SEAT CUSHION HINGE COVER

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and 2 clips, and remove the cover.

  14. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT ASSEMBLY RH

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. w/ Seat Heater System:

      Disconnect the connector.

      Remove the 4 bolts and seat assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  15. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

      Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a moulding remover, detach the 6 claws and remove the side panel.

  16. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH

    1. w/o Airbag Cut Off Switch:


      1. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.

      2. Using a moulding remover, detach the 6 claws and remove the side panel.

    2. w/ Airbag Cut Off Switch:


      1. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.

      2. Using a moulding remover, detach the 6 claws.

      3. Remove the side panel and disconnect the connector.

  17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    1. w/o Illumination:


      1. Detach the 7 claws and 4 clips, and remove the scuff plate.

    2. A01EOWQ

      w/ Illumination:


      1. Detach the 7 claws and 4 clips.

      2. Disconnect the connector and remove the scuff plate.

  18. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

  19. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01ERF3

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Detach the 3 claws.

    3. Remove the under cover and disconnect the connectors.

  20. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH


    1. A01EQ1Q

      Remove the cap nut.

    2. Detach the 2 clips and remove the trim board.

  21. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01ESEG

      Detach the 4 claws.

    2. Remove the under cover and disconnect the connector.

  22. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH


    1. A01ENCL

      Remove the cap nut.

    2. Detach the 2 clips and remove the trim board.

  23. REMOVE REAR STEP COVER

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure to remove the step cover on the other side.

      w/o Illumination Type Front Door Scuff Plate:

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the step cover.

      w/ Illumination Type Front Door Scuff Plate:

      Detach the 4 claws and remove the step cover.

  24. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

      Remove the rear door scuff plate.


      1. Remove the screw.

      2. Detach the 3 claws and 4 clips, and remove the scuff plate.

      Remove the rear door scuff plate.


      1. Remove the screw.

      2. Detach the 3 claws and 4 clips, and remove the scuff plate.

    1. Detach the 2 clips and 8 claws.

      Remove the carpet from the floor, open the back door and tail gate, and remove the carpet from the rear of the vehicle.

  35. REMOVE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET


    1. for 19 Speakers:


      1. Disconnect the 6 connectors.

    2. for 9 Speakers:


      1. Disconnect the 3 connectors.

    3. Remove the 3 bolts and remove the amplifier with bracket.

  36. REMOVE AMPLIFIER COVER (for 9 Speakers)

      Detach the 3 clips and remove the cover.

    1. Remove the 2 screws and bracket.
