FRONT BRAKE REMOVAL

  • Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.


  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

    Note

    Wash brake fluid off immediately if it is spilled on any painted surface.

  3. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD


    1. A01ESEO

      Remove the pin hold clip.

      Note

      The pin hold clip can be reused if it has sufficient rebound; no deformation or wear; and has had all rust, dirt and foreign particles cleaned off.

    2. Remove the 2 hole pins.

    3. A01ENDD

      Remove the front disc brake anti-rattle spring.

      Note

      The anti-rattle spring can be reused if it has sufficient rebound; no deformation, cracks or wear; and has had all rust, dirt and foreign particles cleaned off.

    4. A01EOC0

      Remove the 2 pads from the disc brake caliper.

    5. Remove the No. 1 anti-squeal shims from each pad.

  4. DISCONNECT FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE


    1. A01EP9O

      Remove the union bolt and gasket, and then disconnect the flexible hose.

  5. REMOVE DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01EQSC

      Remove the 2 bolts and disc brake caliper from the knuckle.

  6. REMOVE FRONT DISC


    1. A01ESBCE01

      Put matchmarks on the front disc and the axle hub if planning to reuse the disc.

    2. Remove the front disc.
