DESCRIPTION

These DTCs are stored when the AFS ECU detects errors in its own communications with the headlight swivel motor.

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Check for DTCs Click here.

      OK
      DTC B2410 or B2411 output does not occur.

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) Click here

    OK

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK Click here

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

    A01ERXNE44

    1. Disconnect the E91 ECU connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E91-14 (IGS) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      E91-15 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E91-22 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - HEADLIGHT UNIT)

    1. Disconnect the E91 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the A40*1 or A46*2 light connector.


      • *1: for LH

      • *2: for RH

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      E91-1 (SMBL) - A40-1 (LHB1) Always Below 1 Ω
      E91-29 (SML) - A40-9 (SML)
      E91-23 (SMGL) - A40-4 (LH E)

      E91-23 (SMGL) - Body ground

  4. INSPECT HEADLIGHT UNIT


    1. Remove the headlight unit Click here.

    2. Disconnect the headlight swivel motor connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LH
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (LHB1) - 1 Always Below 1 Ω
      9 (SML) - 2 Always Below 1 Ω
      4 (LH E) - 3 Always Below 1 Ω
      for RH
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (RHB1) - 1 Always Below 1 Ω
      9 (SMR) - 2 Always Below 1 Ω
      4 (RH E) - 3 Always Below 1 Ω

    NG

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT Click here

  5. CHECK HEADLIGHT SWIVEL MOTOR


    1. Temporarily replace the headlight swivel motor with a new or normally functioning one Click here.

    2. Check for DTCs Click here.

      OK
      DTC B2410 or B2411 output does not occur.
