WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEM Wiper Switch (HI Speed) Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The windshield wiper ECU receives the HI position signal of the wiper switch to operate the wiper motor at HI speed. Even if the ECU malfunctions, its circuit structure enables it to operate the wiper in HI operation mode.

  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY)


    1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the windshield wiper switch.

  2. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH


    1. A01EPGPE02

      Disconnect or remove the switch Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LHD
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      4 (+2) - 2 (+B) Wiper switch in HI position Below 1 Ω
      4 (+2) - 2 (+B) Wiper switch not in HI position 10 kΩ or higher
      for RHD

      1 (+2) - 3 (+B) Wiper switch in HI position Below 1 Ω
      1 (+2) - 3 (+B) Wiper switch not in HI position 10 kΩ or higher

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH - WINDSHIELD WIPER ECU)


    1. A01EQYBE03

      Disconnect the E16 switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the E89 ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      for LHD

      E16-4 (+2) - E89-9 (2S) Always Below 1 Ω
      E16-2 (+B) - E89-6 (ES)
      E89-9 (2S) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
