REAR DOOR DISASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH


    1. Remove the 7 clips and engine room side cover LH.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note


    • w/ Navigation System:

      After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      *1 Protective Tape

      Put protective tape around the rear door outside moulding sub-assembly LH.

    2. A01ESHT

      Using a moulding remover, detach the 3 clamps and 7 clips, and remove the rear door outside moulding sub-assembly LH.

    3. Remove any clips remaining on the door panel.

      Note

      Be careful not to allow any clips or pieces of clips to fall inside the door panel.

  4. REMOVE COURTESY LIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. A01EOJ3

      Detach the claw.

    2. Remove the courtesy light and then disconnect the connector.

  5. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG LH

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the rear door inside handle bezel plug LH.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  6. REMOVE REAR UPPER DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL LH

      Using a moulding remover, detach the 6 claws.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the rear upper door armrest base panel LH and rear power window regulator switch assembly.

  7. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the regulator switch.

  8. REMOVE REAR LOWER DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL LH

      Remove the 4 screws and rear lower door armrest base panel LH.

  9. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01ERTKE01

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Detach the 11 clips.

    3. Remove the rear inner door glass weatherstrip LH together with the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH by pulling them upward in the order shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Make sure that the pin labeled A in the illustration is detached from the door panel.

    4. Disconnect the connector.

    5. A01EPPA

      Disconnect the 2 cables from the rear door inside handle sub-assembly LH.

  10. REMOVE REAR INNER DOOR GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH


    1. A01ENT3

      Detach the 4 clips and remove the front inner door glass weatherstrip LH from the front door trim board sub-assembly LH.

      Note


      • Squeeze the metal clip to remove it.

      • The metal clip may be deformed if it is forcibly pulled.

  11. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01ENQ0

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the light.

  12. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for 19 Speakers)


    1. A01EPLF

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 4 screws and speaker.

      Note

      Do not touch the cone part of the speaker.

  13. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for 19 Speakers)


    1. A01ENJ6

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Detach the clamp.

    3. Remove the 2 screws and speaker.

      Note

      Do not touch the cone part of the speaker.

  14. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01ENCM

      Remove the 17 screws and rear door armrest assembly LH.

    2. A01EPVJ

      Remove the 6 screws and rear door inside handle sub-assembly LH.

  15. REMOVE REAR SPEAKER SET


    1. Disconnect the speaker connector.

    2. Remove the 3 screws.

    3. Detach the claw and remove the speaker.

      Note

      Do not touch the cone part of the speaker.

  16. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM COVER LH


    1. A01EOI1

      Detach the 7 clips and remove the rear door trim cover LH.

  17. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

      Using a clip remover, detach the 6 clamps.

    2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the 2 connectors.

    3. Remove the rear door service hole cover LH.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the remaining tape on the door.

  18. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS RUN LH

      Remove the rear door glass run LH from the window frame.

  19. REMOVE REAR DOOR REAR LOWER WINDOW FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01EOAU

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Remove the screw and rear door rear lower window frame sub-assembly LH.

  20. REMOVE REAR DOOR QUARTER WINDOW GLASS LH


    1. A01EP1N

      Remove the rear door quarter window glass LH and rear door quarter window weatherstrip LH as a unit as shown in the illustration.

  21. REMOVE REAR DOOR QUARTER WINDOW WEATHERSTRIP LH


    1. Remove the rear door quarter window weatherstrip LH.

  22. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01ENIQ

      Remove the rear door glass sub-assembly LH from the rear door window regulator sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not damage the door glass.

  23. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH


    1. A01EP3X

      Detach the clip and remove the rear door frame garnish LH.

      Tech Tips

      The rear door frame garnish LH needs to be replaced with a new one because the clip will break when removing the rear door frame garnish LH.

  24. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH


    1. A01EQ07

      Detach the clip and remove the rear No. 2 door frame garnish LH.

      Tech Tips

      The rear No. 2 door frame garnish LH needs to be replaced with a new one because the clip will break when removing the rear No. 2 door frame garnish LH.

  25. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      *1 Temporary Bolt

      Loosen the temporary bolt.

      Note

      Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH may fall and become damaged.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts and rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH.

      Note

      Be careful when removing the bolts as the rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH may fall and become damaged.

    3. Remove the temporary bolt from the rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH.

  26. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01EQYO

      Using a T25 "TORX" driver, remove the 3 screws and motor.

      Note

      Be careful when removing the screws as the motor may fall and become damaged.

  27. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH

      Detach the claw and remove the rear No. 3 door weatherstrip LH.

  28. REMOVE REAR DOOR BELT MOULDING ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Put protective tape around the belt moulding.

    2. A01EO76

      Detach the claw and remove the belt moulding.

  29. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRONT WINDOW FRAME MOULDING LH

    1. Put protective tape around the window frame moulding.

    2. Detach the clip and remove the double-sided tape to remove the window frame moulding.

  30. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01ENYX

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket, remove the 3 screws and door lock.

      Note

      Be careful when removing the screws as the door lock may fall and become damaged.

  31. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY LH

      Using a screwdriver, detach the claw.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      Remove the rear door lock remote control cable assembly LH.

  32. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE LOCKING CABLE ASSEMBLY LH

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      Remove the rear door inside locking cable assembly LH.

  33. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER LH


    1. A01ES76

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket, loosen the screw.

    2. A01EOIW

      Detach the claw and remove the rear door outside handle cover LH.

  34. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01EPBO

      Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, loosen the screw.

    2. A01ENJZ

      Disconnect the connector.

    3. Remove the rear door outside handle assembly LH by sliding and pulling it in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

  35. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD LH


    1. A01EQEV

      Detach the 3 claws and remove the rear No. 1 door outside handle pad LH.

  36. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD LH

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the rear No. 2 door outside handle pad LH.

  37. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01ESMB

      Detach the clamp.

    2. A01EP4V

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket, loosen the screw.

    3. Slide the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly LH and No. 4 electrical key wire harness to remove them.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly LH through the service hole.

  38. REMOVE NO. 4 ELECTRICAL KEY WIRE HARNESS


    1. A01EPH0

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Detach the 2 clamps, and remove the No. 4 electrical key wire harness from the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly LH.

  39. REMOVE DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR


    1. A01ERRP

      Remove the screw and door electrical key oscillator.

  40. REMOVE REAR DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01EQOT

      Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and rear door check assembly LH.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the rear door check assembly LH through the service hole.

      Note

      Be careful when removing the bolt and nuts as the rear door check assembly LH may fall and become damaged.

  41. REMOVE REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH

      Detach the 21 clips and remove the rear door weatherstrip LH.

      Tech Tips

      If clips are damaged during removal, replace them.
