POWER BACK DOOR SYSTEM Main Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The power back door main switch only turns on while the switch is being pressed, and turns off when the switch is released.

When the switch is on, a power back door operation request signal is input to the power back door ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (POWER BACK DOOR MAIN SWITCH)


    1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the power back door main switch.

      Back Door
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      PBD Main SW Power back door main switch/ON or OFF

      ON: Power back door main switch is not pushed

      OFF Power back door main switch in pushed

      		 -
      OK
      The display is as specified in the normal condition.

    NG

    INSPECT POWER BACK DOOR MAIN SWITCH Click here

    REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR UNIT ASSEMBLY Click here

  2. INSPECT POWER BACK DOOR MAIN SWITCH

    1. Remove the power back door main switch Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      3 (MSE) - 6 (MSW) Free (ON) Below 1 Ω
      3 (MSE) - 6 (MSW) Pushed (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR MAIN SWITCH Click here

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SWITCH - UNIT AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the E80 switch connection.

    2. Disconnect the L36 unit connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E80-6 (MSW) - L36-17 (MSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      E80-3 (MSE) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      E80-6 (MSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
