RELAY (for Window Defogger) ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. REMOVE DEFOGGER RELAY (DEFOG)


    1. Remove the defogger relay from the engine room relay block.

  2. INSPECT DEFOGGER RELAY


    1. A01ESAFE01

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 4 Battery voltage is not applied to terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω
      Battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 5 Battery voltage is not applied to terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      Battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the relay.

  3. INSTALL DEFOGGER RELAY


    1. Install the defogger relay to the engine room relay block.

  4. REMOVE HWD RELAY


    1. Remove the HWD relay from the engine room junction block.

  5. INSPECT HWD RELAY


    1. A01ESAFE01

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 4 Battery voltage is not applied to terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω
      Battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 5 Battery voltage is not applied to terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      Battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the relay.

  6. INSTALL HWD RELAY


    1. Remove the HWD relay from the engine room junction block.
