AIR PUMP (w/ Secondary Air Injection System) REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH


    1. Remove the 7 clips and engine room side cover LH.

  2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH


    1. Remove the 7 clips and engine room side cover RH.

  3. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL

      Remove the 3 clips and upper radiator support seal.

  4. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Raise the front of the V-bank cover to detach the 3 pins. Then remove the 2 V-bank cover hooks from the bracket, and remove the V-bank cover.

  5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    • w/ Navigation System:

      After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable from the cable is reconnected Click here.

  6. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

      Remove the 3 bolts and 2 screws.

    2. Turn the clip indicated by the arrow in the illustration to remove the fender splash shield.

  7. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH


    1. Remove the screw, and disconnect the liner from the front bumper cover.

    2. Using a T30 "TORX" socket, remove the 3 screws.

    3. Remove the 5 clips.

    4. Partially remove the fender liner.

      Tech Tips

      It is not necessary to fully remove the fender liner. Partially remove it so that the air pump can be removed.

  8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL FRONT RH

      Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips and fender apron seal.

  9. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY


    1. A01EPIO

      Disconnect the vacuum hose and No. 2 ventilation hose.

    2. Loosen the 2 hose clamps.

    3. Remove the air cleaner hose.

  10. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 bolts and air cleaner.

  11. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE

      Engine Room Side:


      1. Disconnect the 3 clamps.

      2. Disconnect the No. 2 hose.

      3. Using a clip remover, remove the clamp from the body panel.

    2. Front Fender RH Inside:


      1. Disconnect the No. 2 hose from the air pump.

  12. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE

      Engine Room Side:


      1. Disconnect the clamp and No. 3 hose.

      2. Using a clip remover, remove the clamp from the body panel.

    2. Front Fender RH Inside:


      1. Disconnect the clamp and No. 3 hose from the air pump.

      2. Using a clip remover, remove the clamp from the bracket.

  13. REMOVE AIR PUMP ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET

      Disconnect the 2 air pump connectors and detach the 3 wire harness claws.

      Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and air pump assembly with bracket.

  14. REMOVE AIR PUMP INLET


    1. A01ESAPE01

      Remove the 2 bolts and air pump inlet.

  15. DISCONNECT NO. 1 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE


    1. Disconnect the 2 hoses.

  16. REMOVE AIR PUMP ASSEMBLY


    1. A01EPKR

      Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clamps and remove the 2 air pump assemblies from the bracket.

    2. Disconnect the 6 air pump insulators.
