AIR PUMP REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH


    1. Remove the 7 clips and engine room side cover LH.

  2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH


    1. Remove the 7 clips and engine room side cover RH.

  3. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL

      Remove the 3 clips and upper radiator support seal.

  4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

      Remove the 3 bolts and 2 screws.

    2. Turn the clip indicated by the arrow in the illustration to remove the fender splash shield.

  5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON TRIM PACKING A

      Remove the 3 clips and front fender apron trim packing A.

  6. DISCONNECT FRONT FENDER LINER RH


    1. Remove the screw, and disconnect the liner from the front bumper cover.

    2. Using a T30 "TORX" socket, remove the 3 screws.

    3. Remove the 5 clips.

    4. Partially remove the fender liner.

      Tech Tips

      It is not necessary to fully remove the fender liner. Partially remove it so that the air pump can be removed.

  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER AND HOSE

      Disconnect the No. 2 PCV hose and No. 1 air hose.

    2. Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector and detach the clamp.

    3. Remove the 3 bolts and loosen the hose clamp, and then remove the air cleaner and hose.

  8. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE

      Inside engine room:


      1. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 3 air injection system hose from the air tube.

      2. Detach the clamp and disconnect the No. 3 air injection system hose from the clamp.

      Inside front fender RH:


      1. Detach the clamp from the air pump bracket.

      2. Slide the clip and remove the No. 3 air injection system hose.

  9. REMOVE AIR PUMP ASSEMBLY


    1. A01EQM2

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Detach the connector clamp from the bracket.

    3. Disconnect the wire harness from the clamp.

      Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and air pump assembly.

  10. REMOVE AIR PUMP INLET


    1. A01EQ5V

      Remove the 2 bolts and air pump inlet.

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE

      Remove the No. 1 air injection system hose from the air pump assembly.

  12. REMOVE AIR PUMP


    1. A01ESDW

      Detach the 2 clamps from the air pump bracket.

    2. Remove the 3 insulators from the air pump.
