BODY GENERAL MAINTENANCE


  1. BODY INSPECTION


    1. Check the body exterior for dents, scratches and rust.

    2. Check the underbody for rust and damage.

  2. INSPECT TIRE AND INFLATION PRESSURE


    1. Check the tires for wear and proper inflation pressure Click here.

  3. INSPECT LIGHTS, HORN, WIPERS AND WASHERS

  4. REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING FILTER


    1. Remove the glove compartment assembly.

    2. Remove the air conditioning filter Click here.

      Note

      Set to recirculation mode before removing the air conditioning filter.

    3. Visually inspect the surface of the air conditioning filter.

    4. If the air conditioning filter is contaminated with foreign matter, clean or replace it according to the maintenance schedule.

      Note

      Some filters are not able to be cleaned.

  5. INSPECT REFRIGERANT AMOUNT FOR AIR CONDITIONER

  6. TIRE ROTATION

      Rotate the tires as shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      131 N*m  { 1336 kgf*cm, 97 ft.*lbf }
  7. ROAD TEST


    1. Check the engine and chassis for abnormal noises.

    2. Check that the brakes work properly and do not drag.

    3. Set the parking brake shoes and drums.

  8. TIGHTEN BOLTS AND NUTS ON CHASSIS AND BODY


    1. Tighten the bolts and nuts on the chassis parts listed below if necessary.


      • Front axle and suspension

      • Drivetrain

      • Rear axle and suspension

      • Brake system

      • Engine mounting

      • Other chassis parts

    2. Tighten the bolts and nuts on the body parts listed below if necessary.


      • Seat belt system

      • Seats

      • Doors and hood

      • Body mountings

      • Fuel tank

      • Exhaust pipe system

      • Other body parts

  9. FINAL INSPECTION


    1. Check the operation of these vehicle body parts.


      1. Hood


        • Auxiliary catch operates properly.

        • Hood locks securely when closed.

      2. Front and rear doors


        • Door locks operate properly.

        • Doors close properly.

      3. Back door


        • Doors close properly.

      4. Seats


        • Seat adjusts easily and locks securely in any position.

        • Seatback of each seat locks securely in any position.

        • 3rd seat locks safely when stored.

      5. Be sure that the vehicle is clean before returning it to the customer. In particular, pay attention to the following:


        • Steering wheel

        • Parking brake lever

        • Shift lever knob

        • All switch knobs

        • Door handles

        • Seats
