FRONT ACCELERATION SENSOR REMOVAL

  2. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  4. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Detach the 8 claws.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the panel pad.

  5. REMOVE INNER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACKET COVER LH

      Remove the clip.

    2. Detach the clip and remove the cover.

  6. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

      Detach the 9 claws and remove the panel pad.

  7. REMOVE INNER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACKET COVER RH

      Detach the clip and remove the cover.

  8. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01EQSF

      Detach the 8 claws.

    2. Disconnect the connectors and remove the panel.

  9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

      Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a moulding remover, detach the 6 claws and remove the side panel.

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE

      Detach the 5 claws.

    2. Disconnect the connectors and remove the switch hole base.

  11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    1. w/o Illumination:


      1. Detach the 7 claws and 4 clips, and remove the scuff plate.

    2. A01EOWQ

      w/ Illumination:


      1. Detach the 7 claws and 4 clips.

      2. Disconnect the connector and remove the scuff plate.

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01ERF3

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Detach the 3 claws.

    3. Remove the under cover and disconnect the connectors.

  13. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

      Remove the cap nut.

    2. Detach the 2 clips and remove the trim board.

  14. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the hole cover.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    3. A01EQBC

      Detach the 16 claws.

    4. A01EN2R

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the sensor.

    5. A01EQEE

      Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the 2 control cables.

    6. Remove the finish panel and then disconnect the connectors.

  15. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX ASSEMBLY

      Detach the 5 claws.

    2. Remove the box and then disconnect the connectors.

  16. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    1. A01ESFQ

      Remove the 5 bolts and driver side knee airbag.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

      Note

      When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  17. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH

    1. w/o Airbag Cut Off Switch:


      1. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.

      2. Using a moulding remover, detach the 6 claws and remove the side panel.

    2. w/ Airbag Cut Off Switch:


      1. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.

      2. Using a moulding remover, detach the 6 claws.

      3. Remove the side panel and disconnect the connector.

  18. REMOVE NO. 4 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

      Detach the 5 claws and remove the register.

  19. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH

      Detach the 11 claws and remove the register assembly.

    2. A01ESAL

      Detach the 4 claws and remove the panel garnish.

  20. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

  21. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01ESEG

      Detach the 4 claws.

    2. Remove the under cover and disconnect the connector.

  22. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH


    1. A01ENCL

      Remove the cap nut.

    2. Detach the 2 clips and remove the trim board.

  23. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    1. A01ERFH

      Remove the 4 bolts.

    2. Detach the 4 claws and remove the front passenger side knee airbag.

    3. Disconnect the connector.

      Note

      When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  24. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX DOOR KNOB

      Using a moulding remover, detach the 2 claws and remove the knob.

  25. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

      Remove the 4 bolts.

    2. Detach the 4 claws.

    3. Remove the finish panel and then disconnect the connector.

  26. REMOVE STEERING CONTROL ECU WITH JUNCTION BLOCK (for LHD)

      Rear Side:


      1. Disconnect the 7 connectors.

      2. Detach the 2 clamps.

      3. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts.

    2. Front Side:


      1. Disconnect the 5 connectors.

    3. Remove the steering control ECU with junction block from the vehicle.

  27. REMOVE STEERING CONTROL ECU WITH JUNCTION BLOCK (for RHD)

      Rear Side:


      1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

      2. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts.

    2. Front Side:


      1. Disconnect the 3 connectors.

    3. Remove the steering control ECU with junction block from the vehicle.

  28. REMOVE ACCELERATION SENSOR (for Driver Side)

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and sensor.

      Use the same procedures for LHD and RHD vehicles.

  29. REMOVE ACCELERATION SENSOR (for Front Passenger Side)

    2. Remove the bolt and sensor.
